Hormones and Sleep and Squash
Lord but I wish I would totally get over this virus. I'm better but it is SLOWWWW and I still feel knocked out. At least everybody else stayed healthy. Speaking of health, yesterday we saw the oncologist (and man was the infusion suite hopping yesterday) and Ernie had a beautifully undetectable PSA. The doctor spoke to us about the possibility on going on intermittent hormone therapy. I'd read a bit about this in the past but generally I try to stay away from reading a whole lot about treatment once we've made a decision as it can tie me up in knots. This approach would take him off the hormones until his PSA got to a certain level. The consensus at this time seems to be that it does not lengthen or shorten survival rates, so you would have the same result with less side effects. On one hand I like the idea and the other hand it totally freaks me out. To sit and watch his PSA rise....but then again.....would he feel better being off the crap periodically? I don't know. We'll do some reading and think about it a bit. Makes me feel a bit topsy-turvy. I like to shove this stuff all the way to the back of my brain but it's not always possible.
And this hot weather makes me feel so disconnected to the outside. We are eating some of our overgrown vegetables which helps.....here's some squash ready to be cooked... We've got lots to do before we allow people to step foot in our house and yard for David Olney but mostly this weekend I want to sleep....sleep, sleep, sleep.....and wake up feeling steady on my feet....
