Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Every day when Ernie drives me to work we pass the McDonald's at Neil and Kirby.  And every day I ponder the special that is listed on the sign.  Fifty chicken McNuggets plus two large drinks and two large fries for $14.99.  Does this reallly mean they expect two people to share 50 McNuggets?  Every single morning this is what I ponder....

2.  I'm really getting tired of the word 'curate.'  Nobody chooses....everybody curates.  In the new Food & Wine I read about a restauranteur who doesn't really source ingredients as much as he curates them.  Yeah, yeah, yeah....whatever.  As Waylon would say, " this curate bit done got out of hand."

3.   The other word use that gets me is 'concerning.'  No, I don't mean "concerning such and such" or "of great concern."  I mean all the people that say, "I find that concerning."  EEEEEEEK!  It's not 'concerning'....it CONCERNS you.  Am I crazy?  It's like nails on a chalkboard!

4.  Well, aren't I the whiner today?  Huh.

5.   HowEVER.....have I mentioned sleeping with the windows open?  Ahhhhhhhhh....heaven!  I suppose it will be hot and wretched again by the time our David Olney party rolls around but just to have a break.....thank you, thank you, thank you!
