Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Man I was in lousy mood yesterday.  Just a mishmash of things.  A cross word in the morning, feeling a little down about some recent news, just feeling out of sorts.  I came home to undone homework.  Leo asked me to help him with something and then rolled his eyes at everything I said.  Then I looked at the clock and realized I’d missed David Olney.  I felt totally uninspired….fed the boys and ate popcorn for dinner.  Popcorn with salt, just a bit of butter and lots of black pepper.  It, at least, was delightful.

2.  The other day we were driving home from Springfield when Owen suddenly started giggling and giggling in the back seat.  I turned and looked at him and he said, “don’t the clouds look cartoony?”  I had to agree….they did look cartoony.

3.  Leo went to the dentist yesterday.  All was good, no cavities, no need for braces.  They said he should brush his teeth better and showed him scary pictures.  Yay!  All for a mere $190.  Sigh.  And Owen goes in a couple of weeks.  We should get some of it back from insurance but out it goes upfront.  Ugh.

4.  Tomorrow evening we’re going to the sunset wine tasting at Prairie Fruits Farm.  I forgot it was the same night as the Ellnora Guitar Festival opening night but we’ll probably swing by there afterwards....unless we’ve been too soothed by the sunset and the wine…..

5.  Not too much planned for the weekend.  We’ve got to get ready for Tommy Womack NEXT week!  Friday evening Smile Politely has asked us to talk about our house concerts on their radio show/podcast.  Gulp.  These things always make me nervous but I was pleased to be asked and I do want to spread the word about the Tommy Womack show!

6.  I just got off the phone with someone and as he hung up he said, “give yourself a good one”…..kind of in lieu of saying “have a good day” I suppose…but I was somewhat repulsed.  Sounded kind of obscene to me….
