Nice 30's detailing from the inside of Lincoln's Tomb
I liked this tomb across from Lincoln's Tomb....
The diorama feel to the block near Lincoln's house seemed well-meaning but awfully antiseptic. Owen looked puzzled and said, "they're just trying to make these look old." I told him the houses were actually old but... I don't know. This is where I'm a failed preservationist in some ways. I liked this beat up lonely house the next block over much better.
For various reason we were room bound for dinner so Owen and Ernie walked over to this place and got take-out. Man I love old fashioned eggplant parmesan!
When we stay in hotels the boys usually force us to split up at night....so this was my view as I read my kindle and got sleepy.
You gotta like breakfast in a quonset hut.
I got a horseshoe since I was in Springfield. I can't say I'll do it again but it was oddly satisfying.
Leo went all out and got ONE pancake, no butter please....but what a pancake it was!
Ernie even spotted a car just like his old 63 Galaxie 500. White four door, blue interior. The boys were all caught up in the possibility that maybe it was the SAME one.
A rare shot of Leo. Now that I have an iPhone I can sometimes fool him with its camera.
