The Sweet Peas and Me.

I always laugh through our parent teacher conferences. I just find them so damn funny. I mean I'm not worried about the boys academically..not that they are doing perfectly mind you---there were a few grades I was not happy with....but for the most part I don't think academics will be their challenge in life. Figuring out where they fit in and finding the right friends....that's a more important challenge and for them it will be a harder one.

When we leave I just giggle to myself because you hear these things and you think...."really?" Leo participates in class and Owen follows directions well and doesn't complain? Who ARRRRRE these people?

Then I hear myself in my head lecturing them and saying, "yes, the grades are fine but I know you are capable of so much more....you're just not living up to your potential" and I think "oh my god.....who am IIIIIIIII?"

My mother, that's who.
