A Lovely Day.

I truly will never see my eldest son if he gets his own computer. He just came downstairs, looked at me sitting in front of the computer and politely (I'll give him that) asked when he could use it. I said, "oh maybe a half hour or so" and he said o.k. and went back upstairs. Sigh. My sweet pea.

Last night I'd thought we'd get up and go to Prairie Fruits Farms to see the baby goats. This morning however, after Owen woke me from a truly bizarre dream that included a fair amount of violence and underground travel, neither Ernie or I felt like being energetic enough to leave the house early.

Yesterday after work Ernie took me for our traditional Friday lunch at Fries and Peanuts. As we were getting ready to go a young couple came in having obviously just gotten married. They were gorgeous and the nervous happiness was coming off them in waves. A guy down the bar bought them a drink and they hovered over their camera looking at their pictures. We told them congratulations and left holding hands.

Had a lazy afternoon (I reinstituted the Friday afternoon nap) before heading out to Artists Against Aids. Nothing took our fancy although I couldn't help but like the glasses with hamburgers and hotdogs in the stems....

Our sole purchase was a tiny little paperweight for $15. I've been yearning for my sister's antique glass marbles and it feels so good to hold a piece of solid glass in one's hand....so it's my new little talisman....

We headed over to Big Grove and snagged two spots at the crowded bar. We sipped some wine and got an order of the fried smelts. They took awhile so they gave them to us on the house (very nice) and good god but they were good. Just crunchy brininess and the malt vinegar aioli with it was perfectly balanced. Nice, nice, nice. We will have to go there more often.

We tumbled home and Owen jumped all his father while I played videos on youtube and told them to be quiet. Leo steadily Minecrafted and Skyped.
