Onward, with Patience....
Man, I am bleary with a capital B today. I got up late with my head barely out of strange dreams with hotel rooms and drops of blood and apparitions in hotel bathrooms of horses with people ranging from George Wallace to Grandma Moses to Grandpa Jones...but strangely the hotel also had nanny cams so whenever I would leave the boys in the hotel room I'd get cute little emails telling me they were fine and what they were doing.
Anyway....yesterday was a gorgeous day and we got some things done in the yard....cutting down ornamental grasses and dividing and moving them. I love to watch my boys work. Leo got inside job assignments as he hates being outside. Sometimes I enjoy torturing him and making him work outside but sometimes it's more expedient just to give him inside work.
Later Ernie and I wandered the aisles of Target and Lowe's, thinking about fixing our outdoor table and replacing the chairs that are dying.... Owen had a wonderful time at band practice and Leo enjoyed some solitude. A good day for everyone.
In other notes, Owen has become a bass player. I must admit to having always had a soft spot for bass players so this works out fine for me!
The evening slowly rolled around. I made, if I do say so myself, an outstanding batch of curried oven-fried chicken, with mashed little golden potatoes and a raw asparagus salad. Then around 8:30 I became furious with one of my children and after talking to each of them relatively calmly and trying to explain why I wanted to kill said child...I got into bed and turned my light off. All I'd wanted to do was watch the new Mad Men but it was not meant to be. I fell asleep pretty quickly only to wake to strange dreams. And now you're right back to where this post started.
Monday. Busy, busy week between work events, school meetings, middle school open house for Owen, work dinner on Thursday and all day work on Saturday....along with patiently waiting for the cherry trees to blossom. Onward I suppose....onward.
