Random Notes from the Frazzled Life
1. Eric Brace and Peter Cooper are NEXT SATURDAY! Time to pay up for your reservations! You can click on the link at the top right of this page or you can drop cash or check off at our place. This will be a really wonderful night. Eric and Peter are amazing---lovely people and have a brand new album to boot. Oh, and Japanese food! Personally, I consider this a can't miss!!!
Here's a song from the last time they were here. One of my favorite songs (sorry about the hiss on the PA---don't worry, it won't do that this time---Ernie has talked to it):
2. I had all these things I wanted done before this house concert.....the jukebox fixed, staining the grout on the bathroom floor, painting the floor of the porch, at least scraping the trim on the porch, figuring out how to fix the kitchen walls and put something back up on them..... Anyone want to make bets on what will get done??? I don't think I do because this weekend is already looking busy....sigh.
3. Speaking of the jukebox....look at the dust on that poor little Sun 45....shameful...just shameful.
4. Tiring evening last night. I'm not sure I'm going to survive my sons' teen years and they're barely there. Sigh.
5. Too many sighs in this post....I need to work on that. I made a lovely frittata for dinner last night even if one child told me it was disgusting (which led to the conversation that was just ONE of the things that made me tired). Slivered baby collards, green onions and a little garlic with some eggs and cheese on top. Made some kind of Italian flavored red potato hash and put a bit of tomato sauce on top. It felt light and spring like yet still comforting.
5. Speaking of spring....we are getting our first batch of local asparagus from our farmer Greg today. I can't WAIT!!
6. I kind of wanted to murder Leo last night but he came home with an award for high honors and and an award for achievement in music appreciation. He was so happy and god his smile is gorgeous. We did look a bit askance at the music appreciation and ask if they had been playing Pendulum. He just giggled. And so I didn't murder him.
My sweet pea....my sweet, sweet peas....
