Me: Don't forget to brush your hair and your teeth.

(13 year old makes inarticulate noise of protest)

Me: Don't grunt at me when I say something polite to you.

13 year old: (big sigh) I wasn't GRUNTING!

Me: What were you doing?

13 year old: I was GROWLING. A grunt is a short noise that doesn't continue. (shakes his head in disgust)

Me: I don't think I could love you anymore. There is no way possible I could love you any more. I think I have reached maximum love level.

He shakes his head at me, subtly rolls his eyes, brushes his teeth, and manages to leave before brushing his hair.

God I love that boy.
