Elementary No More

I just got back from 5th Grade Graduation and if you're curious....yes, I did get teary. I was fine, fine, fine....and immensely proud of what a fabulous job that Owen did introducing the principal (I put Ernie in charge of recording it so....uh, no video....but I do love that man). And I just smiled giddily as Owen walked across the stage and shook hands with everyone.....but at the end when they all started singing Ain't No  Mountain High Enough.....well damn.

I just could not adore that boy more.

He is so special.

Ahhh....forgive me.

The only hitch was that they played the Michael McDonald version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough.

Ernie didn't cry at the ceremony but just now, I made him listen to the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell version while I showed him the pictures....and ha! I got him!  See if it works for you....watch the video below and then look at the pictures of all those 5th graders singing....

this was my view for much of it...Owen is behind the woman standing....she stood there recording it for a good portion of it all. People are amazing.

our beloved Librarian, Pat Matthews, who is retiring....she will be missed....so glad my boys both had her throughout grade school!
