Moon Rocks and Brothers

We heard from the prodigal son!

Ernie and Owen and I went out to dinner at Black Dog lastnight. Food wonderful as always (smoked duck), lousy server, which is unusualthere, AND Ernie didn’t have my phone with him so I couldn’t take pictures.Owen gloated but it caused me much pain. We had a lovely time despite the lack of photodocumentation. We meandered home and I startedErnie on slicing radishes on the mandolin. The phone rang and Owen ran towardit shouting, “LEO, LEO, LEO!” and indeed he was right. It was my sweet baby. Itturns out he couldn’t really hear me when I called him the other day by mistakeso I think I’m in the clear as far as ridicule goes.

My heart about burst open as I listened to Owen’s side ofhis conversation with Leo.

You saw the WHITE HOUSE?

Oh DUDE….I am so jealous.

DUDE, that’s FLIPPING AWESOME!

Oh Leo, I am so jealous. That is so cool.

Oh DUDE.

REALLY?

That’s awesome dude.

Finally, I was allowed to get on the phone with him. Hesounded so happy. Did you know there’s a piece of the moon in the stained glassof the Washington Cathedral? I didn’t either. I can’t wait to see my baby’spictures.

Owen told me he was glad he’d gotten to talk to Leo thelongest because there are some things that you have to be a brother tounderstand. I told him I agreed.
