Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1. Great. Our sump pump died.

2. I can't decide which is worse....having your period every month or getting chin hairs. I announced that fact to the house at large the other day. Leo ignored me. Ernie snickered. Owen said, "WHAT?" I just told Owen that menopause was a bit of a pain and he said, "I have no idea what you're talking about but I don't think I want to." Well, that's something new....usually he wants to know EVERYTHING.

3. I ordered Owen a new pair of glasses (he wanted something slightly more hipstery) online and got all giggly and happy about how easy and cheap it was. So I happily uploaded an unflattering picture of myself on there, tried on numerous pairs of glasses and got all the guys to vote on my final selection of favorites. Then I started entering my prescription only to find that the astigmatism in one of my eyes is too great and my prescription isn't included in their range of options. Piffle. That is what my mother would say. Piffle.

4. Sherry Rich house concert coming up next Thursday. Ed Burch and Todd Fletcher opening! This will also act as an informal going away party for my beloved friend Tom Sheehan and his wife Rebecca as they will be taking off for the Northwest soon. Sniff, sniff. The inimitable Sue Davis will be selling grilled skewers of chicken satay, shrimp and vegetables.....$2 each or 3 for $5 or something like that.
