RIP Rodolfo
Damn. Couldn't Rodolfo have made it one more day?
Sigh.
Debbie got home last night. She is exhausted of course but grateful to be home. I don't have words to thank Bev and Eli in Higgins Beach for all they did. Eli picked Debbie up from the hospital, took her to buy a cane and then drove her back to her car. Debbie managed the drive home o.k.
Her vet called me yesterday afternoon to say that Rodolfo wasn't doing well. I got hold of Debbie and she talked to the vet. They thought he would be o.k. overnight and she would go in first thing in the morning. When the phone rang before 7 am today I didn't have a good feeling.
We knew Rodolfo was sick so it wasn't out of the blue but if he could have made it just one more day.... Debbie was going to go in this morning to be able to hold him one more time.
Then I realized we'd forgotten the load of laundry that I needed for work in the washer....still all wet.
I'm not sure this day is starting out well.
Now I need to go to work and get caught up from missing the week in which I was going to get caught up from missing two previous weeks. And school starts next Monday for the boys and the following week for the University. Needless to say...a lot to do.
I am going to go drink my coffee milk and try to focus.
RIP Rodolfo.
Even though it's a different situation, it makes me think of when my sister Judi's dog Wally died, just days after she did.
