Sherry Rich House Concert
I usually write a post about our house concerts a day or so afterwards. This time however, after the Sherry Rich show, we had one day to prepare for our two week vacation. So suffice to say....it just didn't happen. I thought I'd write it while we were on the trip but somehow vacation induced laziness kept me from writing much of anything. Then of course, for those of you that read this regularly, you know that things got just a tad complicated.... Luckily my sister Debbie is in good shape and back home....somewhat overwhelmed and exhausted but good. I am finally back at work trying to get caught up and thinking about the fact that the boys start school NEXT MONDAY! So it is at last time to write and say....good GOD but that was a fantastic show!
Sherry and her husband Rick Plant could not have been more charming. It was one of those shows in which you not only love the music you're hearing and the energy of the crowd....and the food....but also know you've been given the gift of new friends. Their beautiful daughter Freya was there as well and did a wonderful job of merchandising. I loved seeing a gaggle of girls watching a strong, beautiful woman perform.
Thanks to Ed Burch for a absolutely wonderful opening set with the great Todd Fletcher accompanying. It was such a pleasure to hear him. Thanks also to Ed for letting Sherry know about our house concerts in the first place.
I hate recording things during a show but damn I'm sorry that I didn't break down and record some of the songs. I wish I'd at least gotten Pandora Mink for Owen. Sherry kindly dedicated the song to him. Later he told me that was the best moment of his life. God I love that boy. And Sherry Rich.
If you were there or if you weren't....I WAY recommend the album. You can get it at CD Baby and probably other places as well.
Thanks to all that were there and most of all to Sherry Rich and Rick Plant!
