There's Always a Silver Lining

I started dinner last night and got halfway through before I realized that I hadn't put a key ingredient (like the main ingredient) on the shopping list. I aborted. We threw it all back into the refrigerator and ordered pizza.  I thought things were looking up but I was wrong. A major, and LENGTHY, battle ensued with Owen and Leo ignored my deadline for getting his homework done. I was pissed at everybody and yet again REALLY glad to go to bed. Perhaps I should get sick again. It was miserable but much more peaceful.

That's o.k. That's o.k. Today is Thursday and I've got the Jans Project on Saturday AND a three day weekend. Lots to do today but at least dinner is already half made. See? Silver linings....silver linings....

I haven't even taken any pictures of late. The hummingbirds are loving my cardinal vine and my nasturtiums but my blue morning glories still haven't bloomed. The cosmos kind of suck this year but my zinnias.....ahhhh, my beloved zinnias.... Between vacation, being sick and the heat I somehow feel totally disconnected from my yard which I hate.

Next year? No vacation!

Here's a picture of my beautiful, beautiful boy....just to remind myself of how much I adore him.
