Overdue Bills and Winning Prizes

Last night Ernie and I came home only to see both boys tumbling down the stairs in excitement. Owen was yelling, "I'm helping Leo with his trains and it's REALLY fun!" and Leo was grinning. I could have cried they were so beautiful. They pounded back upstairs to work. Leo has gotten his Big Boy working...the lights and the noise. It hadn't been used in years. I can't believe it's been six years since he first got it. Click on the link and see what babies they were! Whew. Later, as I was tiredly going to bed they called me in again and showed me they'd gotten the Big Boy to move. I screeched in appreciation. Leo's face glowed with happiness and he glanced at me sideways, grinning, and said, "I feel like a won a prize." Of course then I had to cover him with kisses. He was so happy he didn't even mind.

I drifted off to sleep with the sounds of Ernie's breathing, the boys' laughter, train noises and Rod Picott. Pretty damn good I tell you.

This morning Ernie is in a fit because he can't find the checkbook he had with him yesterday. All I could think blearily was, "And for this I have to make my own coffeemilk?" I also can't find my phone, we got a call about an overdue credit card, AND I got a parking ticket last night. Woo-hooo, huh?

Despite it all I can still feel the glow of my boys' happiness, so it's all o.k.
