A Good Day. A Healing Day.
After our sojourn at Moonshine Grocery we meandered back toward C-U. We were in no rush to get home and were enjoying the grey skies and bare fields. We headed up to Casey and felt obligated to visit the World's Largest Wind Chimes. Ernie's favorite sign of the day was the one across the street from the chimes that said, "World's Largest Rocking Chair Coming Soon."
We headed up the road and landed in Kansas.
We wandered on to Brocton. Not a whole lot going on in Brocton but there were lots of trucks in line for the grain elevator so not all was quiet.
These last two were somewhere along Route 49 but I don't recall where. As we edged back into town Ernie asked if I wanted to stop by Fries and Peanuts. I said yes so I sent Teri a text and she met us, and then Tom came and sat with us. I made a new friend in the bathroom. I know..sounds odd...but it was delightful. Hey Kathleen! And you know......it was all just what I needed. We got home and Owen had written us a truly thoughtful letter of apology for what we'd been upset about. It meant so much that he did that on his own, without us asking, and that it showed he really understood.
My boys. My sweet, sweet boys.
A good day. A healing day.
