From yesterday.....

O.k. then.

Gravy base made, just needs to be finished with the pan drippings. Turkey is uncovered in the refrigerator drying. Cranberry sauce made. Apple cider doughnut pumpkin trifle made. Tourtiere filling made after a trip to the store for more cinnamon....Brussels sprouts sliced....pearl onions peeled and braised in chicken stock.....bread for stuffing is drying on the counter. Ernie is about to roll out the pie crust. Things are looking good. Mashed potatoes and stuffing to do tomorrow. I'm wondering whether I should attempt doing my stuffing (not) in the slow cooker a la Serious Eats.....still to be decided....

Had a wonderful lunch with a new friend yesterday. It turns out she graduated from the same high school my mother did and I can't begin to tell you how that made my day----despite being a bit sad I couldn't call my mom to tell her about it. Thinking of my parents and Judi today but looking forward to my sweet peas and my family of friends being together for dinner tomorrow....and talking to my sister Debbie!
