Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Election Day and I didn't vote this morning so I will have to vote after work. I HATE that. I like voting in the morning. Now granted, I could have gotten up half an hour early but I was having this delightful dream. Joe Ely was whispering in my ear. Not in a salacious way mind you, but it was lovely just the same. He was telling me about his daughter and I was telling him about the boys. He looked quite dapper and smelled good. I was kind of hiding out from a meeting of a group of women trying to decide what dessert to make for an event and I was explaining to Joe that I hate groups like this, that organized groups drove me crazy. He laughingly agreed and then they called him over to do a song. He did and he sounded great....totally rocked it out. Then the meeting was over and he left but when I left the building, which turned out to be Lincoln Square in Urbana, I found someone at the front waiting for me. He gave me some hot chocolate that Joe Ely had bought for me. That was so thoughtful of Joe. Then I went outside and I couldn't find my car. I searched and searched and searched...walking through the parking lot in the dark. Then I woke up. I've had the lost car dream a lot lately. Hmph.
2. Owen's hands from the other day.
3. This...THIS, THIS, THIS ORNAMENT! This is what I need to find. Not one kind of like it...one JUST like it. We had one, it was Leo's FAVORITE Christmas ornament and it got broken. My parents had one too, gave it to us and it got broken in the Great Ornament Smash of 2012 I believe it was. We have searched to no avail. This is exactly it. It was light as a feather, not one of those heavy glass ones and Leo loved it. And yes, I've already done a Google image search. But...I'm putting it here just in case....
3. I got really pissed at my children last night because they didn't answer their phones. So I came home and was all DO YOU WANT A PHONE? BECAUSE IF YOU WANT A PHONE THEN YOU BETTER ANSWER THE GOD DAMN PHONE WHEN I CALL YOU! This was only slightly less effective than I would have wished because at that moment, and right now? I can't find my phone. Yeah.
4. Rascal came home from the Vet a little tired but by this morning he was back to waking me up by digging his claws in the screen of the bedroom window and gleefully attacking Bob.
Poor Bob.
5. Sergio (Webb) played us some songs that Julie Christensen recorded (with Sergio on guitar) when he was here and they were incredible. I'm smitten.
6. Lunch is over. Back to work.
