Cherry Blossoms to See Me Through

This morning Ernie asked me what I wanted for dinner and I just looked at him blearily and said, "anything I don't have to deal with." You know I'm tired when I don't even want to cook. It's been a crazy busy week with a lot of work events and days at work in which I felt like a popcorn kernel in a pan of oil. It's all good but I am tired....just finished up work today, worked all day yesterday and Monday morning looms with lots of stuff scheduled for the day and a late meeting to top it off. I can't complain about the work but I will complain about being tired and being on my feet too much for my stupid knee and back.

As tired as I feel, things are good. The cherry trees are beginning to bloom at Japan House and there is something so reassuring and invigorating at the same time about that. Perhaps I've been at Japan House too long. In fact the other day I asked Ernie to help me set up something at work and when he finished I gave him a quick little bow and said thank you. He looked at me and said, "GIRL? Did you just BOW to me?" Whoops. We're all such products of our environments...although Ernie has always opined that I'm particularly susceptible and would pick up a southern accent in to time flat if I were to move down there.... Who knows.

On a different note I had a good conversation with the Central High School Principal the other day. I always seem to get to know the principal of the boys' schools for one reason or another. Do some people go through school without getting to know the principal? Hmm. Anyway---I hadn't talked to him or met him before and I liked him very much. There's nothing to report because it's all a personnel issue at the moment but I feel very pleased with their response to all this.

So...onward to another week. Another busy weekend coming up, I fear I won't be able to see anything at Ebertfest. Oh well...I've got cherry blossoms to see me through....
