Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1. The week has not started off so great. Bleh.

2. Physical therapy tonight. My knee was worse over the weekend but is a bit better now. Bleh again.

3. Some kid was bothering Owen so Owen looked at him and coldly said, "Your acne foreshadows your future." I wanted to tell him it's not right to make fun of someone's acne but I couldn't bring myself to say much of anything. I just stared at him.

4. Leo's trip to Chicago was a disaster. Late trains and no steam engine, just passenger cars. I was utterly heartbroken for him.

5. Fucking cancer. I've had lots of dreams about people dying of cancer. My worries and sorrow just surfacing in my dreams I guess. So sad to see new of local anchor Dave Benton's passing.

6. We were ready to book a show we are really excited about but just realized it's the same day as the Robbie Fulks/Bobby Bare, Jr. show at Loose Cobra. Not sure what to do now damn it, damn it, damn it.

IMG_0964a rare shot of Leo...imagine him saying, "Are you REALLY taking a picture of me with your iPad?"

7. I don't know WHAT I was doing last night but this morning I got a message from facebook that they had reviewed the photo of Mel Farrell's that I had reported as harassment. They said they thought if fit their community standards but that I could unfriend Mel if I wanted to. Hmmm. Here's the picture. Lord only knows.

8. HOWEVER....all will be right with the world on Saturday night. The Mighty King of Love himself,  Phil Lee will be here. Our beloved Debbie Stewart will be on hand to do Tarot mini-readings and Cody Sokolski (of Cody and the Gateway Drugs) will open the evening. Tips welcome for both of them. $20 suggested donation, which will go to Phil. BYOB, we'll have some smoked chicken and some brats maybe and I'm going to try my hand at vegan baked beans. Bring something to share if you like! Dinner starts at 6:00, music to follow! I know it will do my heart good, hope you can join us. Knife throwing on request perhaps?
