Matt Brandabur, Cats on Newel Posts, and an Undetectable PSA

Busy, busy, busy, busy. Worked on Sunday, work this Saturday and I think next Saturday too. I hope I can squeeze an extra day off around Thanksgiving. It feels as though New Year's is next week which is freaking me out a bit.

Yesterday I spent the morning at a training. I sat next to someone I like so that helped, and I'm enough of a geek to be a little excited about the new system, but there is something about sitting in that huge room with everyone hunched over the computer screens and squinting at the powerpoint at the front of the room that makes me feel as though it should be part of a mid-film montage showing how dull your life is. Oh well. In the afternoon Ernie and I went off to the Cancer Center. He only goes every three months now so it feels different, not quite as intensely familiar...and God knows every time we go they've got a new system. Wait in this room, no, go into the infusion suite yourself, no, have someone take you to the infusion suite, no sit in this line of chairs....it felt funny, but good, to be somewhat unsure. Test results were good (GO ERNIE!). I took him for a celebratory drink at Fries and Peanuts and then we tumbled home. We got home early enough that I wanted to watch the evening news like a real grown up, but we had to keep turning it up to hear it over the Velvet Underground Owen was playing in the next room. My sweet peas.

One other quick note before I finish my lunch and get back to work. I try to always keep an eye on whatever any of my beloved Vertebrats are up to. I saw that the inimitable Matt Brandabur has a funding site up for his newest project. Take a look. I think anything Matt does is worthy of consideration.....

And on a final rambling note..... One of my favorite things is coming down stairs in the morning and seeing Rascal calmly sitting on the newel post of our stairs. It does make the house seem what magical to me. Annie must have caught on too, because even though I've never, ever seen one of the other cats do it....yesterday she was soaking up the sun at the top of the stairs. Now if they would only do that at the same time!
