PETER PETER PETER FREAKING CASE CASE CASE and Other Notes

1. Oh good God in heaven......is Peter Case's new record a slice of wonderful. Had a long, busy day at work yesterday; Ernie picked me up and we stopped off at the hospital to visit a friend, who, happily, is doing great (love you Nancy). We left there and he bought me a drink at Fries and Peanuts. We chatted a bit and worked on our shopping and to-do list for tomorrow's Pretend Thanksgiving with Rod Picott. Eventually we tumbled home, fed the guys and then just curled up in the living room. Ernie and Owen excitedly opened the box from Peter Case. Ernie held the yellow vinyl up to the light in admiration. Owen put it on for us and we sat and in the slightly darkened room, with all that unearthly low fog around the house, and listened. We both had tiny smiles on our faces whenever we looked at each other. It is superb.

2. In other news I didn't even WANT to kill either child last night. Ahhhh.....

3. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow is Pretend Thanksgiving with our beloved Rod Picott. His new album is outstanding...it seems like the very essence of him. If you have loved his live performances...you will love it. So come on out to Pretend Thanksgiving...we'll have experimental turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and salad. Lisa's bringing dressing, Mary's bringing cranberry sauce.....show up and enjoy! Email me for details if you haven't been to our place before.
