Balsams and Boys

We went to pick out our Christmas trees after work last night. Owen had insisted it be dark when we did that. Leo is always ready to do anything with Christmas trees. The cheap balsams at Prairie Gardens are HUGE this year and the scent was almost intoxicating! The past few years we'd actually almost given up on them because they were so short. This year they are massive. We walked around, pulling one out to look at every so often. I walked down one aisle when all of a sudden a tree tumbled right onto me. I yelped and we all laughed. A woman a row over laughed too and said it looked as though it wanted to go home with me. We stood it up, pondered it, and Leo gave the o.k., so yes, indeed, its little jumping tactic worked...and it came home with us.

We looked at a few more and then, as we always do, went back to one of the first ones we looked at. It is huge but gorgeous. It will be in the living room. The one that is my little friend will be in the dining room.
