Turkeys and Advent
I'm tired today. It was hard pulling myself out of bed. Owen, however, is even more tired than I as he stayed up ridiculously late playing a new game. I'm hoping he's exhausted enough to learn his lesson as I can't stay up long enough to police my boys' bedtimes any more. He did perk up a bit upon seeing the advent calendars because my guys may be pretty damn grown up, but they are NOT too grown up for Lego advent calendars. I find that reassuring.
It was turkey leftovers late at night last night and with that, I fear I am turkeyed out for the forseeable future. We ate late because we stopped in to celebrate Teri's birthday after work. There aren't all that many men that can get me to do a shot on a Monday evening, but evidently the charming Bill East is one of them. It felt good to laugh with friends.
Tonight? Time to get our Christmas trees. Let's see if we can manage to find some $22.97 balsams from Prairie Gardens.... Historically, the boys have proved to be outstanding connoisseurs of handsome trees.....
