Gray March Mornings

I'm trudging through the week. It's been a busy one that I wasn't particularly looking forward to so I'm glad I'm getting there. Not that I want time to go too fast, but once in awhile, during certain weeks, it is just fine with me if it speeds by. I've been swamped at work and Ernie is down with a cold so it's been a sloggy kind of week. Our family never feels right if Ernie is sick. The rest of us can get sick, but not the rock.

Last night and this morning we listened to Owen practice his Gestapo speech for his Holocaust project. I think he's pretty great but I am, of course, outrageously biased. He has to give it this morning. I told him I would be on his shoulder, just as my mother always said to me when I had something I was worried about. My sweet pea.

I just made myself go through my email. I find I communicate less and less by email. It drives me crazy when students don't respond to emails but I'm beginning to understand it. Out of 47 unread emails in my gmail account, 16 are political, the rest are from Google, eBay, the schools, Verizon, the Champaign Library, a few advertising things I haven't managed to unsubscribe from. The only one really of interest is the one from the Library telling me the Cuban cookbook I borrowed online is due. Not one required a response.

What an extraordinarily dull post this is for a grey March day. I hate to leave them unposted even when they're dull though so here you go.

Perhaps a crocus from our front yard to brighten things?

Oh WAIT!.....this will help. Yes. Steve Forbert in our freaking living room in just a bit over three weeks! Not sure what to expect in terms of numbers....I may ask folks to prepay so I can get a handle on it. What do you think?

Yeah, this helps.
