E Like Easy

When we were on our Spring Breaklette, we decided to order a pizza one night. For whatever reason Owen thinks ordering pizza while in a hotel is absolutely heavenly, and who am I to argue? So what the hell, we ordered a pizza. Owen and I were sitting across from each other, each of us perched on a bed, when we heard Ernie trying to order the pizza on his phone. "No, Ernie with an E, like easy," he said. Owen and I gave each other a side eye glance, only to hear Ernie go on to say, "No, ERNIE, like Tennessee Ernie Ford." At that we both pitched forward in giggles. Ernie waved his hand to shush us and said, "No, Ernie...you know, like Bert and Ernie." With that Owen and I were hysterical. Ernie got off the phone and I choked out, "Good job trying to relate to the young folks honey.....Tennessee Ernie Ford?" Then Owen laughingly spit out, "No, Bert and Ernie," and we almost wept with laughter.
