Tired Girl

Very tired girl here today. Friday evening we picked up a speaker for work and had a late dinner at Big Grove. Yesterday I worked all day and although the work wasn't hard....just the chaos of having well over 1,000 people through our small facility for our Spring Open House was exhausting. I made a simple dinner last night and we curled up and binge watched more Outlander. Unfortunately we did not make it to our beloved Linda Douglas' party....I owe you one Linda but congrats ont he retirement just the same!

Owen's still fighting a cold and today I feel tired and wretched...whether is allergies or Owen's cold or just the grey day....or more than likely some combination. I'm proclaiming this to be a quiet, read 'lazy', day. I'm going to make some kind of beanless spicy chili because I thought the heat might be good for Owen's cold and it seems like a good day to have something simmering on the stove.

We splurged on swordfish from Cheese and Crackers the other night. Oh good GOD it was wonderful. My mother adored swordfish so I always think of her. I just seared it in a pan with some fresh thyme, butter, and lots of pepper. Some yukon gold little mashed potatoes with the skins left on and some shredded zucchini and parmesan rounded things out.

My work's Spring Open House ALWAYS falls on Boneyard Arts Fest weekend so I always miss it. No doubt I could have done something afterwards last night but I was fried solid.
