Kieran Kane. Relief. Brightness.
Kieran Kane has a new EP, Unguarded Moments, available from CD Baby. I was thrilled when I saw the news but after downloading it (download only I'm afraid) I feel as though I could cry from utter relief. I didn't know how much I was waiting to hear his voice and his playing. I swear to Got, it feels as though the sky is sparkling.
Kieran Kane is really special to me. I adore that lovely, talented, curmudgeonly guy. There's something about his voice, his songs and his playing that speaks to me. His music is clear and spare and direct and cuts through my heart. This EP seems to be following the same path his last work has been going down...just even further along perhaps, even more clarified. It's sometimes reflective, sometimes driving, sometimes damn sexy. But then again I've always thought that about Kieran's work. Kieran is brilliant, and even though it might not be the first thing that hits you...his songs are rhythmic masterpieces (says the girl who always turned the bass way up when she was in high school).
I wish I could be more articulate about this. I truly do.
