Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Isn't it time to go on vacation yet? No? Really? I have to wait?
Sigh.
2. In other news....our beloved Rebecca and her girls named one of their puppies Owen Blackwelder. I have ALWAYS thought Owen was somewhat puppylike. A million years ago, when I worked at the museum, and he was little Kathleen Jones gave me a calendar of puppies that looked exactly like Owen. Here you go:

3. In Whole 30 news, we are on DAY 17 !!! We missed Fries and Peanuts so we went yesterday and had a delightful club soda and lime....and it was lovely to chat with folks. The hardest times are weekends for us as we aren't really used to eating lunch on weekends and we get offtrack and wonky (or at least I do). Oh, and Ernie...don't forget to buy OLIVES today! We are holding steady though. I'm sleeping a bit better...still waking and restless in the night but at least I'm falling asleep more easily and waking MUCh more easily....even when I haven't had enough sleep. Huh. I do feel like we're both in better moods. Is it the diet or the satisfaction that we are doing it? I don't know but I'm taking it. That being said, I want an ear of corn. Oh, and I'm getting tired of eggs for breakfast. Have to think about that...
4. Last night Sue took the guys to see Indiana Jones on the big screen (IMAX no less) and they had a fantastic time. They couldn't stop smiling when they got home. Owen chattered on, reporting on the evening, while Leo stood there and smiled. Reportedly "it wasn't bad having Leo there, he laughed a lot and translated the German for them." A good night. Thanks Sue. You are the best.
5. Last year when we planted this hydrangea it immediately started turning pink and I thought, "oh, the hell with it, I'm never going to manage to keep it blue). But look at this will you? Pardon the weeds coming through....
6. Don't forget....Bottle Rockets at Undertow near downtown Champaign tomorrow!! Get your ticket before they are gone....
