The Ghost of Christmas Present.....

A good Christmas.  Granted it made me go to bed at 8:20 and sleep 12 hours but it was very, very good. I am so grateful that we had Judi here to share it with us.

My boys are VERY happy.  Owen is pretty sure he heard Santa Claus.  Leo says he slept through it.  I'm happy to say that Santa evidently very much enjoyed not only the cookies left for him, but also the Indiana Jones fruit snacks.  Owen thinks that's how Santa knew to leave him an Indiana Jones leather jacket, a hat and a WHIP HOLDER (the highlight---yeah....the14.99 highlight).  Leo was floating so high upon receipt of the AT-TE Walker Lego set that when they opened the Republic Gun Ship Lego set that was given to both of them from Santa, he generously told Owen he could have it.

And....when Judi came downstairs halfway through the present opening chaos, they both stopped what they were doing and ran to get all the presents under the tree for her and bring them to her.  My sweet boys.

We couldn't get my mother's wheelchair up the ramp because of all the ice so we sort of dragged her in the back steps----took a few years off of all of our lives but what the heck...we got her in here.....  My dinner was so-so but as always when you make some things that don't turn out as well as you like you learn something.  If you're going to roast things DO NOT CROWD THEM!  The broccoli was o.k. but not nearly the sweet treat that usually inspires a potato-chip-like frenzy they usually are.  Should have trimmed my ham more too---but one learns...

My brother in law with the endless box of presents was here too and I'm so glad....wouldn't be a holiday without him.  Thanks Dennis---for all the wonderful gifts and for being there.

Today we've had a supremely lazy day---despite the enthusiastic plans I made at 2:oo in the morning during one of my wakings.  It was grey and foggy and I laid on the couch, looked at cookbooks, gloried in the daytime tv buffet of cooking shows and the Gilmore Girls.  We're just going to scavenge leftovers tonight and continue in the lazy mode....

Happy Holidays to all.....
