Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  No hot water this morning thank you very much.  Courtesy of our flooded basement I guess.  Lovely.

2.  Plans for the weekend you ask?  This afternoon run over to my mother's house to do something I promised to do that I can't for the life of me remember...hopefully she will, then off to a doctor's appointment then to the bank to finally get Judi's estate account started.  Saturday.....mmmm, farmers' market, perhaps finally do our frigging taxes as I would like to partake of that refund.....perhaps work on Owen's room.....wedding tomorrow evening....a couple of commencement parties on Sunday evening (and I get to see my beloved Dr. Gisela), need to make something for a party on Monday evening....I'm thinking stuffed grape leaves as I've had a hankering for them.....what else?  Shopping so my boys will have clothes and shoes to wear, groceries for my mother......and I think that pretty much wraps it up.....

3.  The other day I was driving with my mother and Owen.  Owen asked me to play California Sex Lawyer by Fountains of Wayne for her so I did.  He kept asking me to turn it up, in return I kept saying 'uh, I think that's loud enough for Grandma."  I shouldn't have worried----she never remembers to wear her hearing aids.....  After the song Owen asked her if when she was a little girl she had ever laid on the grass and looked up at the sky.  She assured him she had and then turned to me and said, "I think he is the perfect boy."  You gotta love adoring grandparents....  He does have his moments I must admit....

4.  Leo had to cancel his Lego Club meeting yesterday afternoon as his second in command wasn't available.  He took it pretty well.

5.  We made a recipe out of the new food and wine....some kind of grilled chicken with an ancho and roasted garlic sauce.  Sounds good right?  It was perfectly uh o.k.  The recipe raves about the sauce saying you won't believe it doesn't have butter in it....uh maybe that's because of the quarter cup of olive oil you put in....oh well....it's kind of fun to follow a recipe once in awhile....

6.  Turns out the slight rise in the ground at Eisner Park is known as "Monster Hill."

7.  Now that's just a damn sexy peony.....
