Some Evenings....

oh good Lord....last night was just one of those nights....homework angst for children....maternal angst because she was missing David Olney's Ustream show arguing about homework and finding ads from the newspaper for items less than $4 that could be cut out and taped to homework and illustrated with coins adding up to said amount....and then there was more maternal angst because truly one should be more committed to helping said children--even if they're being irritating---more than one is committed to watching a Ustream show even if it is the great David Olney.

Geesh.

And then the other child couldn't find his mp3 player so found his 'back up' mp3 player (he has a generous uncle) and gave it to me along with a list of songs he needed on it.  Of course for one of the songs you had to buy the whole damn album but given that this child hardly ever asks for music damned if I wasn't going to do it.  So I get it all off itunes but since it's a mp3 player I have to switch them over to mp3 (is there any easier way to do this?  Along with being cell phone impaired I'm totally  iPod/mp3 player impaired).  So I did that but then had to go to the other computer for some of the other requests.  Then all of a sudden the mp3 player wouldn't show up on the damn computer so went back to the other computer and couldn't get it to show up either.  Even if it needs to be recharged it should show up once it's hooked up though, right?  So after much playing and grumbling and getting mad at other child for not GOING TO SLEEP IT'S AFTER 10:00 DAMN IT I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE TIME CHANGE I finally gave up and went and got my iPod and tried to put it all on there.  Of course at this point I was really tired and frustrated (see above iPod impairment) and ended up saying fine---just get rid of all the music on here and sync it to this computer I don't really care at this point.  So I did that and left it connected so it could be all charged up and thought well the hell with this I'm going to bed but at least said child will be really excited that I have all this damned music and he gets to use my iPod.

So I get up this morning (rather late I might note because I was up late messing with freaking iPods) and find said child not interested in using my iPod.  He said he'll just wait til his is charged back up.

Grr.  Grr.  Grr.
